Pupil Distance

Customer Guide

To make your specs we need to know the distance between your pupils which is called your PD. If you donโ€™t know your PD then donโ€™t worryโ€ฆ.we can get your PD by using Cloud Optician an App designed to measure PD using your smartphone. It can be used with iPhones or Android phones - so long as there is a camera on front and back of your phone.

Here is a short guide of the different steps that you will be asked to follow:

  1. When you are entering your PD on the prescription page select theโ€œMeausre my PDโ€ option
  2. As soon as you have paid for your order you will get a link/QR code on screen & sent to you by email (link is specific to your order)
  3. Use the link to download Cloud Optician App or MIRA
  4. Now open the app and if asked fill in your order number/name just to confirm this link is for you
  5. Once it confirms the link is for you then you just follow the on-screen instructions
    1. First, it tells you to stand in front of a half-length mirror
    2. then it will ask you to hold the camera phone at arm's length
    3. then it may ask you to change the angle of the camera phone so it captures your PD most accurately
  6. once its taken a GOOD photo its sent to Cloud Optician MIRA who measures your PD with millimetre accuracy
  7. Cloud Optician MIRA sends your PD to us and to you so we both have a record of it
